This year, College students are again celebrating a pass rate at A level in excess of 98%, across nearly 60 subjects. College Principal, Simon Jarvis, said, ‘The success story at the College, maintained year-on-year, is due to a strong teaching and support staff, working with talented students who enjoy their studies. We are committed to developing the full potential of all students – this College provides a rich environment in which to flourish.’

Among the College students celebrating results was Bethany Woodhams who distinguished herself by achieving A* grades in five of her A level subjects, a remarkable extraordinary feat matched by both Louise Ashwell and Lawrence Billing.

Nine fellow students recorded A* grades in four subjects; in all, almost a third of grades awarded to College students this year were either at grade A* or A. These students have demonstrated extraordinary ability and resilience to achieve their results; they would be exceptional in any year. They and their teachers are justifiably proud of their success.

Examination Results

The College offers great diversity and choice and we are proud of the results of our students. We do not artificially inflate the entrance requirements in order to guarantee success and high places in the league tables, as do some selective  and independent schools. We are proud of our open policy. However, if we look at the results of our students by ability, they are outstanding.

Targets for each student

Not content with past success, we are committed to the continuing improvement of students' achievements. To this end, every A level student entering the College is set a minimum grade for examination performance and is helped by tutors to try to exceed it.
