About the College

Students on Results DayThere is no catchment area for the College but the majority of students come from North-East Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire – some students commute daily from as far as Slough. Most students undertake advanced level study. They embark upon AS courses in their first year before proceeding to A2 courses in the second year, leading to advanced level (A level) qualifications.

The College also offers a number of one-year pre-A level courses including OCR National, BTEC First Diploma and Intermediate GNVQ, alongside a limited number of GCSE subjects.

A brief explanation of the courses and a full list are given on the courses page; further details are given in the downloadable Course Guide which is also available from the College.

The College has a reputation for being lively, caring and purposeful. Students can expect to lead full lives and become engaged in a variety of College activities, both academic and social. The atmosphere is relaxed but the expectation is high - and students enjoy responding to the challenges of sixth form work. It is an ideal preparation for Higher Education and employment. An admissions tutor from a college in Oxford said, “We like your students – they already know how to balance study and play”.

Equality of Opportunity

We strive to provide an education that prepares students for study and work alongside people from many different cultures.

Our students are encouraged to develop qualities of understanding and empathy and our over-riding principle is that we treat one another, students and staff, with respect.

We provide for students with a wide range of abilities having developed courses and support which enable students to integrate, flourish and fulfil their potential.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can be of help to those with special needs. Please contact Catherine Cole, Deputy Principal (Student Services) on 01252 688 200 for more information.
