How do I apply?

The admissions process for September 2010 is now closed and applicants have either been informed that they will be called to interview or they have been informed they have been placed in the Reserve pool.   For those intending to apply for entry in September 2011, we prefer you to apply on-line  in order to ensure your application is considered promptly.   If this is not possible, paper application forms (including large-print versions) are available from the College on request.  The 2011 on-line application forms will be available in November 2010.

When you have submitted the electronic application form, we will request a reference from your tutor at school. If you think there will be a problem over your school responding to the reference request, you should state this on the applicaton form and post a copy of your most recent report (end of year 10) to the College.

Do not worry if you are still uncertain about which subjects to study.  When you apply, we ask you to indicate your likely subjects but you do not need to make a final decision until August, once you have your GCSE results.

When do I apply?

The College is always over-subscribed and it is advisable to apply early, in accordance with the admissions policy. The closing date for all applications was 26 November 2009.   The College interviews all students while places are still left; later applicants from non-partner schools are likely to be offered a place in the reserve pool without interview. The admissions policy is included with the prospectus and can also be downloaded here (70kb PDF).

Most interviews are held in the College during the Spring term.  If you are a student in one of our partner schools, special arrangements are in place and the interview may be held in your school.

After you have been interviewed and offered a firm place, you will be invited to a briefing session at the end of June 2010 when we will provide you with details of the enrolment procedures in the autumn term.  Within five days of the GCSE results being published, those holding reserve pool offers are asked to confirm that they still wish to be considered for a firm offer, if places are available. The College hopes to be able to confirm places from the reserve pool by early September 2010.

How do I find out more?

We hold Open Evenings in November each year which provide good opportunities to visit the College and ask questions. In addition, occasional tours of the College are arranged in the Spring Term for prospective students and parents and an additional Information Evening will be held on Tuesday 27 April 2010 for those who have been offered a place.

Meanwhile, if you are taking public examinations in the summer 2010 - good luck! It is worth putting in as much effort as you can to achieve your best results.

We look forward to your joining us in September 2010.
