Gifted and Talented students disseminate skills to partner schools

The Prospect Theatre Company commenced their bespoke Physical Theatre workshops with our partner schools on Wednesday afternoon; the first one this week at Fernhill School.

P.T.C is comprised of 14 Gifted and Talented 2nd year Drama, Performing Arts and Enrichment students. They have been working with prestigious professional companies such as Frantic Assembly and Rough Fiction to develop their own practical workshop, to guide year 10 Drama students in the early stages of their creative devising process.

The afternoon was a great success and Lucy Pegg the Drama teacher at Fernhill School commented: ‘The College students showed incredible maturity and confidence in guiding the year 10 pupils. Recently, pupils had worked with a professional company but P.T.C had taught them more skills and ways of working independently and creatively.’ She went on to say: ‘It was great to see our male students inspiring her male pupils and allowing them to find the confidence to explore the skills.’

P.T.C will be visiting Robert Mays, Connaught, Cove and Frogmore Schools over the next two months delivering their workshops and in the Spring Term they will be putting the skills they have developed into their own devised piece to be performed in April.
