Inaugural Quiz Night is a winner for our parents.

On 26th October, the Student Association hosted a quiz night for parents: the first ever event of its kind at the College. The SA had been keen to organise an event that would bring parents together, as well as raise money for charity at the same time.

Over 150 parents attended the event which was held in Shades, one of the student cafes. General knowledge was tested to the limit through 10 demanding rounds of the quiz, which included sections on famous landmarks, the 1980s, chemical symbols and a pasta picture round!

During the thoroughly enjoyable entertainment, Ollie Cole (Charities Officer) explained the choice of charity for the evening: Grace, a local organisation supports women with gynaecological cancers. The choice Grace was made by the SA because one of the officers has a personal family link to the charity.

The parents had fun during the evening and the event culminated with the winners being presented with their prize of a bottle of champagne for each team member.

Amara Ogidi, SA Treasurer, whose idea the evening was, was delighted: “It was great to see so many parents there enjoying themselves and to raise such a lot - over £530! - for a fantastic charity”.
