Talented students from Farnborough Sixth Form College went head to head last week to discover who really had the X-factor. In an exciting evening at the College’s Prospect Theatre, nine acts faced the harsh comments of judges to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.

Duo singers, Tom Morley and Greg Perkins, both17, of Fleet, won over the audience and the judges with a brilliant version of Mr Brightside by the Killers, narrowly beating Bonnie Trevellyan, 17, of Farnborough, with her stunning version of Work it Out by Beyonce.

One of the judges, College teacher Sally "Sharon" Osborne, said, "The acts were amazing – it was really difficult to choose a winner out of so many great vocalists".

First prize for Tom and Greg is a tour of Magic 105.4FM and Kiss 100FM radio stations where they will meet and be interviewed by DJ, Neil Fox. But best of all is the promise of singing their winning entry live on the commercial radio stations.

Tom said, "It is a fantastic feeling winning the competition and singing live in front of such a packed theatre was really good fun!"

Greg added, "The thought of performing live on a national radio station is brilliant – I never thought we would be doing that and who knows, we might get invited onto the televised X-factor programme!"

The event raised £500 for the Teenage Cancer Trust Charity.
