Campus was buzzing last week as students returned for Freshers’ Week 2026, taking part in a packed lineup of events designed to help everyone settle in and connect.

The week kicked off on Monday with live music in the quad, followed by a high-spirited campus basketball derby on Tuesday that saw the African-Caribbean Society take the win against the Filipino Society.

Midweek highlights included a Student Union drop-in session - complete with a popular Krispy Kreme sale - leading into Thursday’s main event: the Freshers' Fair.

The Sports Hall was packed with over 50 stands featuring student societies, support services, and local guests including Godalming Record Corner, Anytime Fitness, Rushmoor Voluntary Services, and local MP Alex Baker. The bustling fair resulted in hundreds of new society sign-ups.

The celebrations wrapped up on Friday with a competitive Student Union Quiz to close out the week.
