Students can download an interactive campus map

The Sixth Form College is very proud to launch officially a new iPhone app, designed to provide navigation tips, rooming details and general information to help students and visitors new to the College. The app is available to download free from the Apple iTunes Store and will give prospective students and visitors information on Farnborough Sixth Form College’s campus, room locations, resources and services.

Jon Marks, Assistant Principal, said: “The app will offer prospective students, employers and commercial business clients an ‘e-window’ into the College, whilst helping new students familiarise themselves with their new surroundings. Current students and staff are excited about it, not least because we are amongst the first colleges in the region to develop such an application that students have been requesting.”

The app was designed in partnership with a company based in Hampshire, First Option Solutions, who specialise in bespoke software solutions. The interface for the app is intended to be both informative and engaging, offering an intuitive and tactile user experience.

With mobiles now having fast processors, slick graphics, intuitive touch interfaces and ubiquitous connectivity, the possibilities for mobile apps are immense. The College is determined to embrace emerging technologies, and in so doing will equip students with the tools they need to be successful in the future.
