GCSE Science
For some courses and careers a grade C in Science is required so we offer you the opportunity of a retake Core Science. We offer Core Science A with AQA.
Core Science consists of Biology, Chemistry and Physics in equal quantities. You will sit two examinations; one in January which is worth 35% of your overall grade and one in June which is worth 40% . Both exam papers consist of short and long answer questions aimed at assessing your scientific knowledge and quality of written communication.
You will also undertake a controlled assessment (ISA) which will be in one of the 3 science areas. ISAs will all be completed in lesson time with guidance from your teacher. The ISA is worth 25% of your overall grade.
